Weekly Round-Up 09.12.2021

What is up everyone - hope you all are having a weekend! This week there was a lot of buzz around the announcement of Tableau's 2021 Ambassadors - which included our very own Kate Brown!! Congrats Kate - it's been an honor to work on this community initiative with you. You're a thoughtful contributor, amazing at Tableau, and an even better person. Congrats! Also getting Ambassador yet again is our other co-leader of #SportsVizSunday, Simon Beaumont. Congrats Simon!

Also a huge shout out to all of the #SportsVizSunday community members who got named Tableau Ambassador. Among them Jeff Plattner, Bo McCready, Will Strouse, Fred Fery, Alexander Varlamov, Brian Moore, CJ Mayes, and JR Copreros. You all make this community what is it, thanks so much for your time and contributions over the years! And I'm sorry if I missed someone, these are the names that came to mind.

September Challenge

If you missed the announcement, this month's challenge is a collaboration with Sarah Barlett's #IronQuest! We want you to visualize your favorite sporting heroes and legends! I know that I will definitely be participating in this, and I can't wait to see what everyone else submits for this challenge. You can find more details in Sarah's blog below.

On to this week's content!

This cool viz by Simon Evans analyzes Chris Gayle's 175 Not Out in the Indian Premier League (cricket). There are some really interesting visuals here, make sure to check it out.

This infographic on archery by CJ Mayes is super clean! Well done CJ

This week's #TidyTuesday used F1 data so there were a lot of great F1 vizzes going around this week. Here are a couple of favorites!

McKay shows us some cool graphics on soccer positioning and player tracking.

I love these visuals from Last Row. Always fun to see games that you watch turned into graphics like this.

That's all for this week folks! Have a great rest of your weekend.
